A little history

L’Huilerie GID plant oil mill in a few dates

A history of more than 70 years…

  • 1942

    Creation of Huilerie GID established by Mr Achille de Stordeur at the Lapouyade Mill in St-Médard de Guizières (33).  Manufacturing of raw oil from grape seeds, as we are in a wine growing area, sold in bulk.

  • 1955

    Raymond de Stordeur takes over the family business, improves the trituration of the seeds and sets up the grape seed oil refinery.
    Bulk sales to the food-processing industry as well as to soap factories.

  • 1970

    Creation of the oil blend “CUISINOR” long established and core product of Huilerie GID.

  • 1975

    Construction, opposite the mill of a building intended for wholesale packing (5 and 25 litre-containers) along side the bulk sales.  Shortly after packing of new oils appears (soybean and sunflower oils).

  • 1980

    The production activity and grape seed oil refining stops while the trade of packaged oil is developed.

  • 1981

    The mill is transformed into a hydro-electric power station to product its own energy.

  • 1985

    Olivier Tardieu’s arrival who proceeds to purchase packaging equipment.  Sunflower, soybean, colza, grape seed and peanut oil are packed in various sizes (1 L/ 5 L/ 20 L/ 25 L/ 220 L/ 1000 L).

  • 1990

    Enlargement of the packaging building.  Olive oil and oleic sunflower oil complete the range of the already existing range of packaged oils.

  • 2000

    An HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) initiative is led to identify, analyze and master all significant dangers with regard to food safety at each stage of the process.

  • 2011

    Huilerie GID markets products with the label “Produce from organic farming”.  Ecocert France SAS certifies that Huilerie GID undertakes to respect the rules of organic production defined by RCE 834/2007.

  • 2013

    Development of a range of gastronomic oils (walnut, hazelnut, sesame oils).

  • 2015

    Development of a range of Italian vinegars (Balsamic).

  • From 2016 to 2019

    Expansion of the plant, optimization of the process with the investment of blenders, vats…

  • 2019

    Development of a range of ready-to-use vinaigrette sauces in Shakers.

  • 2022/2023

    After the retirement of Olivier Tardieu, his nephew Guillaume Braure, great-grandson of the founder, took over the management of the company, accompanied by Olivier Gardies, Henri Rollin and Raphaël Clichy.

  • 2024/2025

    A new page is turning for Huilerie GID, in the continuity of its history, notably with the industrial expansion allowing it to continue its development out of the ground during 2025.
    This project will bring it an increase in its production capacities within a CSR logic.
    Huilerie GID has doubled its production/storage area for more agility and in order to improve its working conditions.

    These investments were co-financed by the European Union and the regional council of Nouvelle-Aquitaine through a grant with the Feader program Aid for investments in the processing and marketing of agricultural products from the Regional Strategic Plan 2023-2027.
